Jack's 3rd Birthday

Two weeks before Jack's birthday we were supposed to go to San Antonio as a family.  The kids and I were going to enjoy the waterpark at the hotel while Ben attended a conference.  Jack was so excited to get to go to "the beach".  Unfortunately, the day we were supposed to leave I got the stomach bug.  There was no way I was driving 5 hours sick.  So Ben and I decided that we would stay Jack's birthday night at Great Wolf Lodge to make up for missing "the beach".

Jack has just recently started enjoying sweets.  He wanted to help put the sprinkles on his cake.  I made this cake the night before and I guess there was an earthquake or something.  :)  Somehow it split and ended up looking like a peace sign.

Jack loves to read his name on everything.

"cheese"

Our hotel room with Jack's gifts.

This was the Jack's room.  It was so cute.  The tv can actually play video games.
Too advanced for Jack but we did watch Mickey Mouse on it the next morning.

Climbing the bunk bed ladder

I loved this.  It makes me think of a picture of my dad when he was young.

On the top bunk watching the tv.

Climbing through the window of the bottom bunk.

Kyle was great!  He just sat and played while we got the room ready including his pack n' play.

We decided to open gifts before we went to dinner.  Most of the things we got Jack were sort of practical gifts.  Texas Rangers shirts, piggy bank, and Jack's "Second Year Blog Book".

Kyle playing while Jack opened his gifts.

Mickey Mouse friends figurines.

Ben got Jack a castle with a Knight on a horse.  It's cool and something he can grow into.

After presents we went swimming for a little bit.  Here are the boys in their swim outfits.

We had Jack's favorite for dinner, Chick fil a.

First time on Daddy's shoulders.  Kyle loves this.  He gets the biggest smile.

One of my favorites.
This painting is on the wall of the kids room.  Kyle was holding himself up against the wall.

After dinner we did cake.

Video of singing Happy Birthday and Jack trying to blow out his candles:

I'm thinking it was warm in the room while we were out to dinner.
But it still tasted good and that is all that matters.

Bath time with the boys

I love Kyle's face, "Mommy... what is he going to do?"

The next morning.  The boys watched Mickey Mouse while I packed up the room.

I love how cute his wubanub in his mouth is.

Precious!

That morning after we packed up and loaded the car, we went to play in the water.  We think we traumatized Kyle the day before.  Not realizing remembering he had never been swimming before (2nd child) we took him into the lazy river that had a waterfall.  He got soaked and was not happy.  Needless to say, he clinged to us the rest of the time in the water.

Perfectly content not being in the water.

Jack enjoyed the kiddie area.  He was timid at first but had a great time.

Sitting on a water squirter thing.

On his way to go down the slide.

Excited after going down the slide

Videos of Jack in the water:

This was during Kyle's morning nap time.  Luckily he can fall asleep anywhere as long as you hold him and bounce little bounces.

We visited the game room before we left.  Jack just pretended to play these games.  We were going to Chuck E Cheese the next day.

Kyle was having a great time singing:

We got home just in time for a quick lunch and then a nap.  Both boys nap at the same time in the afternoon so it is wonderful!  After nap, Jack and Ben played with his new castle.

Chuck E Cheese
The next day we met Jack's friend James and his mom, dad and sister Annabelle at Chuck E Cheese.  This was planned before we decided to go to Great Wolf Lodge.  A few weeks before this Miss Wixson, Jack's teacher at school told us how one day, all Jack talked about was going to Chuck E Cheese that night with Daddy.  She said he went on and on about it.  Well, Jack has not been to CEC since he was 18 months old so I'm pretty sure he wasn't remembering that time.  We finally realized that sometimes Disney Jr. channel has CEC commercials.  Anyway, we decided since his party wasn't going to be for a week and a half after his birthday we'd get his closest friends to go to CEC with him.

I couldn't believe that we had become THOSE parents that let their kids stand on the game.  But no one else seemed to mind or think anything of it.
Jack and James trying to play ski ball, but not very successful.  The daddy's had to help... A LOT!

It was funny how similar the boys were when playing this.

And so were the daddy's.  So cute!

Kyle and Annabelle enjoyed a spin around in the hot chocolate cup.  This video is so precious:

Daddy helping Kyle go down the slide.

Watching Chuck E and his friends sing and dance while eating pizza.

Both boys got 20 tokens... Jack ran through his super fast.  He would go on to the next game before he had finished the one he started.  James took his time.
Jack driving...

Videos of fun times:

Jack's favorite thing that he spent most of his tokens on was this Bob the Builder truck that went forward and backward.  I think he spent at least 8 tokens on it.  This was also his favorite the first time he came to CEC.

So serious!  :)

So cute!

Kyle enjoyed the car.  He loves to stand so this was the perfect height for him.

I was able to get Jack to get in the car with Kyle for a quick pic.

Next up... Jack's 3rd Birthday party.  Stay tuned.
